Irish singer-songwriter Keith Harkin is making music on his own terms and connecting with his devoted fanbase more than he could have ever imagined. Proof that sometimes you have to believe in your own dream first…before someone else does.
For ten years Harkin was one of the original members the Irish super group Celtic Thunder, followed by a debut self-titled solo album that was produced by Grammy-award winning producer David Foster. Still, Harkin was searching for the music and voice he could truly call his own.
In 2015, Harkin decided to self-fund his next album On Mercy Street and literally only at the very last second signed a record deal with Blue Élan Records for its release. Shortly following up with a Christmas album of originals and standards in 2016. Both records again hit number one on Billboard’s World Music chart.
On This Podcast Episode:
We’re so excited to chat with Keith about his musical journey and how he’s managed to follow his dreams – even if he had to dip into his own bank account. Keith is back with a new live album In the Round, along with a concert film shot near his home in Venice Beach, California. He then hits the road this holiday season at the end of November for a string of intimate performances with exclusive coast to coast house concert tour. How fun!
My co-host for the podcast is my husband, Jeff Game, a travel, and music journalist that’s always on the hunt for a good story to tell.
