More Travel and Less Stress (With Gavin Delany)

Let’s be real for a second. The idea of traveling in a group hasn’t always been my cup of tea. Something about it always brought the same sense of fear of being in junior high and waiting for someone to pick me to be on their team. What if the other travelers don’t like or I don’t fit in?

However, there is definitely something to be said about having an expertly planned trip where I can avoid the stress of planning it all and great adventures that are within my budget. Gavin Delany, from Stride Travel, has read my mind. Stride Travel is a company that connects you with the best expertly planned trip for you so you can save time and money and most importantly have some epic adventure!

Let’s Dig In

  • Learn how to have an authentic travel experience on any budget
  • Uncover what some of the biggest costs are when you travel that you might not be aware of
  • Hear some of Gavin’s favorite travel adventures
  • Why you need to visit places now that are being affected by climate change (and what those places are)
  • Gavin’s tips to travel better in the upcoming year

Asheville: The Other Music City

We always get the question; where is your favorite place you’ve traveled recently? Currently, one of our favorite places we’ve traveled this year has to be Asheville, North Carolina. If Portland and Nashville would have made a kid, it might be Asheville. With beautiful mountain scenery, Asheville has it all: one of the first and best beer cultures, a booming food haven and a thriving music scene. Pretty much all the boxes we like to check in any city!

This Podcast Episode:

Join us for this special travel episode of Millennial Money, as we explore the other music city. Showing us around their city of Asheville are three locals and new friends of the podcast.

We have Graham Sharpe of the band Steep Canyon Rangers, who are currently opening for Steve Martin and Martin Short’s national tour talks about the eclectic music scene and what draws people to Asheville these days.

Caroline Roy, the owner of Asheville hot spot Biscuit Head, chats about why Asheville is “the” town to visit and start a business in.

To wrap up our tour of Asheville, Chef Mike Moore of Aux Bar gives us some insight into the booming food scene and some tips on where to find some underground music.

My co-host for the podcast is my husband, Jeff Game, a travel, and music journalist that’s always on the hunt for a good story to tell.

U By Uniworld Has Changed Cruising Forever With Ellen Bettridge

Let’s face it, the cruise industry does even get what a traveler in their 40s wants to do, see, and explore and they certainly do not know what an experience is these days. Let alone an experienced millennial traveler in their 20s and 30s just like you. So when you’re thinking about where to spend your travel dollars…if you’re anything like me, you’re looking for an experience.

When we think of cruising usually old school visions of the 70s TV show the Love Boat might pop into our brains, with endless buffets of gluttony, shore excursions to remote location in a beat-up tour bus with no air conditioning and of course the horror stories we see online of ships making people sick, flooding or just horrible customer service. These are the cruise ships of your parents and grandparents.

On This Podcast Episode:

Prompted by a question from Rebekah, who was searching for a unique travel experience, I uncovered U by Uniworld.

U by Uniworld have begun a cruising revolution with their newly launched European river cruises for the next generations and beyond, designed for those with a passion for exploring and taste for authentic adventures. Chic comfortable ships that double as social clubs, silent disco clubs, mixology and fine cooking classes, rooftop yoga, locally-sourced designed menus and experiences in some of Europe’s top cities like Paris, Budapest, and Amsterdam that will blow your mind. That’s right, this is not your parents or grandparents cruise ships.

I had the pleasure to chat up Ellen Bettridge, President, and CEO about one of the hottest new adventures that has the travel world all abuzz these days, U by Uniworld European River Cruises.
