Nashville hot chicken has origins that date back to the 1930’s but now has become the real must-eat in the Music City.

Named one of Forbes 30 Under 30, Chef John Lasater chats with us about food, running a business and all things hot chicken.

Even though you can find this spicy poultry of deliciousness all around Nashville, over the past few years the folks at Hattie B’s Hot Chicken have built a reputation for being one of the best in the city. One big reason for such great success has to be the talents of their Executive Chef John Lasater.

On This Podcast Episode:

In 2015 Chef Lasater was named as one of Forbes 30 Under 30 hot restauranteurs to watch in the food & wine scene around the country. Even though he in one of the founders of the Nashville hot chicken rage, Lasater is one of the most down-to-earth and talented dudes you may meet.

We featured a John as one of our local guides in our recent Nashville episode. Enjoy our conversation with our friend and Hattie B’s Hot Chicken Executive Chef John Lasater, as we talk about cutting his cooking teeth in New York, the success of the Nashville food scene, and if you’re brave enough to try their hottest of hot “shut the cluck up” hot chicken.
